A journey to Pakistan Post

Pakistan post, a name, an organization, that meant nothing to me. A journey that started from disliking Pakistan post to loving it and developing an association with the organization for no exceptional reason is something that will stay as a standout amongst the most astonishing recollections of my life.

We as a six membered team started our work as a firm in full swing. We called our firm as “THE PAPYRUS COMMUNICATIONS”.

We Designated positions to all the members and took hold of our responsibilities and duties. I became the Internal Media Relations head that meant dealing with the website and managing all other contacts.

We started our work by pitching in ideas for our advocacy kit that made me appreciate the strength of our team. All of us were so dedicated and brought in hundreds of ideas. Eventually we ended up with our selected products that we all loved for our kit. We searched for our products on the internet, in the markets in our vicinity and every place we could approach. I and Mahhah Qayyum started designing the stamp book meanwhile. Mahhah designed the front and back pages of the stamp book whereas I designed the inner pages. Designing it took a few days of hard work but we came up with a stamp book that I love from the core of my heart and feel so proud of it as well.

Moving on to the next step, the video making part. Now this was the time when our series of failures and successes started. We chose to shoot the amazingly constructed Murree GPO and hence packed our bags, booked our Daewoo tickets and started our new adventure (Ahmed and my brother accompanied us). We went to the Murree GPO, were allowed to enter the museum that was then restricted for the public. It was a beautiful place, amazing architecture.

Shot our videos, had food from a nearby hotel and headed back to Islamabad.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the video as we expected it to be. So instead we wrote a beautifully written feature article that was composed by Ayesha Nasir and Minahil Shahab.

We again went to shoot other videos of different people related to Pakistan Post and interviewed two more individuals. Again, failed. But still we did not lose hope and went to shoot again and succeeded finally.

I played an important role in the creation and designing of stamp book, worked on Photoshop, and also in the printing of everything. I took shots for our videos as well. I found contacts for our interviews and I was always there to help and work for the project.

What I learned in this process is to never lose hope and keep striving to achieve better results. I have actually learned to have confidence in myself and appreciate my skills. I learned the power of teamwork because obviously without this amazing team, nothing could be achieved.

All of us gave our 100 percent to this project.
