The journey of Pakistan Post was not appealing to me at all, but with our project reaching its end, I cannot avoid mentioning how creatively our group has molded the somewhat no-image of Pakistan Post.
Pakistan Post, an organization which was left unmentioned by its own stakeholders, an organization that has so much in itself but has lost its identity, has been given a new face by the team of Papyrus Communications. Ayesha Nasir came up with this brilliant idea of working out a PR campaign for this organization, leaving us all shocked at some level in the beginning. But hoping for the best, we started off our work.
The official we contacted for our work was Director General Special Initiatives of Pakistan post, Mr. Yameen Khan who encouraged us to visit the Murree GPO, which went under restoration the past year. After paying a day visit to Murree, the hopes went high, like really high. I unfortunately could not go to Murree due to medical issues. We came up with ideas of the advocacy kit that we presented before the faculty members as well. That advocacy kit is something we all are very proud of. I did photography of the kit.
I was made responsible for the camera work, designing of logo, stamp book and punch cards. The group and I are pretty much pleased with all the work our team did. The first two videos that we shot did not end up that well obviously, so we had to visit GPO Rawalpindi and shoot two more videos. As such we did not face any hurdles, not even minute ones, as we were continuously in contact with Mr. Yameen Khan. Where ever we went for interviews mainly for the series of “Daakia Diaries”, we were welcomed whole heartedly.
The most interesting part of the journey was when a young guy, who was interested in pursuing mass communication after college, asked us if he could come with us and see how we work, and appreciated me for my camera work . The overall experience was very informative, the video making classes mainly, as they helped us going for accurate shots rather than wasting time on post production, due to which I would consider myself to be the next videographer of Pixar Productions.
